The Importance of Upgrades in World of Warcraft
Upgrades are new items that boost your stats. You can upgrade armor, weapons and trinkets with these.
To calculate probabilities, item upgrades employ a "upgrade pity". This system is designed to lower odds of luck and offer an adequate safety net when upgrading.
Armor
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade the equipment level of their trinkets, armor, and weapons. The upgrades are applied to the equipment by visiting an item upgrader NPC with the appropriate currency. Upgrading an item will also improve the stats of that item.
This NPC is found in every major city, and is located in the corner of the square near the Teleport. The NPC can upgrade any weapon, armor or trinket, with the exception of those which require a quest or crafting.
Note: The equipment you use to apply an upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time. You are not able to apply multiple upgrades to the same piece. If you attempt to do so, the previous upgrade will be overwritten.
Upgrade your gear to increase your damage, your survival and overall power. If you have Benthic equipment that you obtained from the War Within Mythic Dungeon it will be at ilvl 385 and is upgradeable with [Prismatic manapearls]. Upgrades to your PvE gear are available across all accounts, however upgrades for PvP gear require a particular currency, like [Valorstones or [Harbinger Crestsor [Harbinger Crests]. The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade additional items of gear in the same armor slot is reduced after the first upgrade for the equipment.
Weapons
Weapons are an essential part of any successful character, no matter if they're used to ward off an intruder, kill an intruder, win a target shooting contest or simply hang on the wall. It isn't a matter of how you plan to use the weapon. It is able to be upgraded, and it will alter with your style of play as time goes on.
You can upgrade weapons by visiting a blacksmith with a Weapon workbench. In addition to increasing the weapon's level of a weapon an upgrade will also grant it additional stats that can be used to enhance the power of the weapon. Some upgrades are passive, while others can provide increased damage, faster attacks, improved range, or critical strike chance.
Certain weapons can be upgraded to a higher level using an Ashes of War weapon, which is rewarded for defeating certain bosses in raids. Other upgrades can be added to weapons with Whetblades, which are rare items that allow you to unlock new Affinities that you can infuse your weapon with.
Once a weapon is fully upgraded the weapon will continue to receive additional upgrades for as long as the player has the appropriate upgrade materials and currency in to. It is important to remember that weapons are only upgraded to a maximum of ilvl 25. Therefore, players should only upgrade their weapons after they've obtained the maximum amount of upgrades from regular and Whetblade items.
Trinkets
Trinkets are a special item that offer a range of Boosts. They can be upgraded like other equipment, by directly interacting with the Item Upgrader.
Stardew Valley is the place where you can find an upgrade tool for items. To use it, you need to first remove any armor or weapons that you have equipped. Once you have done that it, the NPC will appear with the red "Equipped" banner over his head.
If you choose him, he'll give you the option to upgrade your weapon or armor. You have to bring the currency and items to the NPC. The NPC will then upgrade your gear by one level.

The increased stats makes the upgraded version of an item more valuable than its base counterpart. There are exceptions to the rule. If an item is not allowed in its use because of the requirements (whistan's shield, for example, is only available to FB Sorcs) or has a low base stat but it can be upgraded in value, it will receive little usage and gain minimal value.
